AFSSoc - Associate
Associate Membership category recognises recent graduates of forensic science.
The new category will carry the post-nominal AFSSoc and will apply to those who, within the past two years, have graduated from a Forensic Science Society accredited degree programme or other non-accredited forensic science degree which has been deemed acceptable by the Society.
Associate Membership provides a clear and direct route through to full membership and on to Accredited status and brings the Society into line with other professional bodies who have a graduate career progression route in place for their subject specific discipline.
Prior to this, the route through to Professional Membership was via the Affiliate category.
This category remains open to graduates of related subjects such as Chemistry or Biology who are now working in forensic science or undertaking further qualifications in the field.
Affiliate members will continue to be able to apply for full membership of the Society in line with the current criteria laid down by the Membership and Ethics Committee.
