The Forensic Science Society has introduced two new awards to recognise the achievement of the most meritorious student on recognised Forensic Science programmes. The Society wants to recognise the hard work of both the academic institutions and the students.
In order for the student to be eligible for consideration (one from each category) candidates must have attained either:
1. A taught postgraduate MSc degree - the title should contain the word forensic and must contain a significant forensic element. All Forensic based masters courses will be assessed on their own individual merits.The course must include a compulsory practical or literature based individual project
OR
2. A FSSoc accredited undergraduate programme
In all cases:-
3. Student must have completed their degree within the last 12 months
4. The overall mark for the student must be at least 65% and must include the following:
Applications from the Higher Education Provider to the Society to include the following documents
1. Letter (no more than one page) from the course /programme director (or a nominated member of staff at the relevant institution) nominating the student
2. Stamped transcript of Marks from the institution together with an anonymous listing of the marks attained by the entire cohort (to enable the panel to assess the candidates overall performance relative to the rest) and highlighting the nominated student mark.
Closing date for both awards: end of September each year.
The decision of the assessment panel is final.
